The 2009 Conference Theme is "The Old and New" (Issues in Weed Management).

The conference organisers are looking for papers which discuss:

• past weed management practices
  • historical examples of weed control practices
  • experiences of weeds officers and researchers in managing weeds
  • lessons learnt from running workshops and community focus groups tackling weeds management

• new challenges
  • what is changing for weeds officers, land managers, and organisations tackling weeds issues
  • the introduction of new technologies
  • the emergence of new weeds threats
  • changes in demographics (such as absentee landowners / hobby farmers), new industries (mining) and their impact on weeds management

• the organising committee will of course consider other proposals which do not directly relate to the theme but would be of general interest to all.
